Anna was born on July 7th, 1839 in Búcsúszentlászló (Zala).  Anna's father was Gergely (nemeshetési) JAKABFY and her mother was Rozália  HOMPÓ.  Her paternal grandparents were György (nemeshetési) JAKABFY and N. N.. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Gergely, Sándor, Trézsi and Terézia.  She was the second youngest of the five children.
